The event put on by the Arizona Technology Council, in partnership with the Arizona Commerce Authority, takes place at the Phoenix Convention Center's West Building from 4:00 - 8:00 PM tonight.

Insight's CIO Mike Guggemos will be on hand to present the award to Dr. McElligott from Fountain Hills High School (Fountain Hills, Ariz.) and also to recognize Christine Sapio, Coconino High School (Flagstaff, Ariz.) and Pradip C. The award is presented to the teacher who has demonstrated innovation in their teaching style and mentoring of students to think creatively.

"On behalf of our global teammates, I would like to congratulate Dr. McElligott, Ms. Sapio and Mr. Misra, as well as all of the nominees for the Insight Teacher of the Year award," said Guggemos. "We are especially excited to sponsor the Insight Teacher of the Year award - as Insight has a community mission to bring technology and children together. Teachers are at the forefront of introducing our future workforce, innovators, inventors and leaders to the possibilities which technology enables."

The GCOI attracts more than 1,000 attendees each year for a night of networking, food and entertainment. 2015 marks the 12th year of this prestigious event. For 2015, the event will consist of a theatre style awards program followed by specialty desserts and live music. The event will also feature a technology showcase of over 50 Arizona companies. These companies consist of award finalists, sponsors and AZTC partners.

"I know I can speak for Insight's 5,400 teammates around the globe when I say ‘thank you' to each and every teacher who strives to make a difference in the lives of our children," said Guggemos.
